"It has been amazing to witness a community of individuals challenged with seemingly overwhelming obstacles, do some simply incredible things. Whenever a G2T athlete pushes their own limitations, they create a world of possibillitities for all those athletes who follow in their footsteps."
JACK SPARTZ, G2T VOLUNTEER/SWIM MENTOR
G2T is in need of qualified coaches in the sports of swimming, cycling, running and triathlon. Coaches may be asked to show current certifications so we can align the best skills with the appropriate disabled athletes. G2T can provide additional training and guidance on working with disabled athletes. Coaching requirements vary by individual athlete. BECOME A COACH
You can bring purpose to your participation in sport by guiding and mentoring an athlete with a disability. Skills and insights are needed regardless if you are an experienced or relatively new athlete. We pair volunteers as “mentors” for disabled athletes based on training needs and the mentor’s abilities. For example, if you’re an experienced runner, we’ll set you up to train and mentor a disabled athlete in the finer points of becoming a runner. We also need non-athlete volunteers to provide support to the organization in a number of ways. If you want to get involved, tell us what you’re good at and we’ll get you ready to “roll up your sleeves”! BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Do you have a race in mind that you’d like to do this year? And are you searching for a way to race for a greater purpose? Then our G2T Ambassadors’ Program may be for you. Our ambassadors are key to helping us raise awareness to the foundation’s mission. Ambassadors are outfitted with sharp G2T “schwag”, help raise funds for the organization, and are aligned with a specific athlete as a way to best understand what it’s like to compete with a given disability. Annually, we look for approximately 60 ambassadors to serve in communities around the country. BECOME AN AMBASSADOR
Volunteers with experience in development and donor relations can assist G2T with building our donor and sponsor outreach. You can assist with the planning and execution of donor outreach and communication. In addition, fundraising volunteers may assist with community outreach and special events where G2T may be benefited. FUNDRAISING
We rely on the kind financial support of individual donors, family foundations, grants and other means to provide programs and services to individuals with disabilities who seek wellness, healthy living and quality competition through sports.
