Two weeks before beginning her senior year of high school, AJ was in a car accident. Her car collided with a telephone pole and both of her feet were crushed among other various injuries.
AJ's first goal was to be able to walk across the football field at her high school graduation. She wasn’t doing cartwheels, but she was able to “wobble” across the field to accept her diploma. The next four years of college proved trying as the bones in her feet began to deteriorate. AJ eventually made the tough decision to have her left foot amputated so she could walk again. | On August 15, 1992, Jason survived a serious boating accident in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The accident claimed his left leg below the knee as well as his right hand. Jason was an accomplished firefighter for the Cape Coral Fire Department at the time of the accident. He received the Firefighter of the Year award for the State of Florida that following year.
Jason found himself forced to contemplate an entirely new set of personal and professional goals. He channeled that determination and focus into law school, graduating with honors. Read more... |
