Mike Lenhart
Founder / President

In December 2006, Mike Lenhart founded The Getting2Tri Foundation (G2T) with the goal of integrating individuals with physical disabilities into their local communities. G2T uses the sports’ disciplines of swimming, cycling, running, racing wheelchair, and hand-cycle as the vehicles for accomplishing this mission.

Mike is a 1990 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point (NY) and earned his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Georgia State University in Atlanta in 2001. He spent seven years on active duty as an Infantry Officer in the US Army, highlighted by a company command in the historic 82nd Airborne Division.

Mike held several management and sales positions for prominent companies over a period of nearly 12 years since leaving the military. In the fall of 2009, Mike decided to pursue the leadership of his foundation, G2T, in a full-time capacity.

In his role as President of Getting2Tri, Mike leads the foundation’s vision of extending the organization’s reach to a world-wide audience through its annual national paratriathlete training camp, online resources, and the connecting of disabled individuals with skilled resources in their local communities. Mike leads the foundation’s continued planning of a world-class sports institute that will empower individuals with disabilities to make smart decisions about their own health and wellness.

Jason Fowler

Growing up in Kingston, Massachusetts, Jason Fowler spent most of his childhood on motorcycles and was a nationally ranked amateur racer by age 10. A natural competitor with self-discipline, he achieved recognition as a remarkable championship athlete. On March 13, 1991, Jason's life was forever changed. While riding his motorcycle he collided with an obscured rock. He hit the ground head first, severing his spinal cord at the T5/T6 level. His injury left him paralyzed from the chest down. He was only seventeen years old.

During the weeks that followed the accident, Jason insisted that he would be as active as possible, as soon as possible. Competitive racing had been his passion. His drive, determination, and strong will propelled him into racing again - only this time in a wheelchair, and only four months after his accident and spinal fusion surgery.
Despite some medical and physical setbacks, Jason never accepted that his life would be anything other than extraordinary. Like most world-class athletes, Jason maintains a rigorous training schedule and continues to tirelessly pursue success.

To date, Jason has completed over 140 road races, 29 marathons, and 20 triathlons. In October of 2009, Jason earned the title of World Champion after winning the hand-cycle division of the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

Jason attended the University of Illinois where he was a member of the wheelchair racing team and then returned to Massachusetts to attend Northeastern University in Boston, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Finance. In May 2004, he earned an MBA with a concentration in health care management from Boston University and most recently is working as a Therapy Consultant at Medtronic, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts.

Suzanne Elbon

When Suzanne Elbon was 5 years old, she was diagnosed with bone cancer in her upper right arm. The treatment, with the best prognosis, was amputation. The following year, the cancer spread to her left lung and roughly one-third of her lung had to be removed. Thankfully, that was the end of the cancer and it never returned.

Suzanne holds Master's and Doctorate degrees in Foods and Nutrition, and a Master's degree in Instructional Technology. She has worked at the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control as a Health Scientist in the Center for Global Health since 2001.

Suzanne has been involved in many sports and activities throughout her life. She has enjoyed tennis, softball, backpacking, water and snow skiing, and most recently, triathlons. She has been participating in triathlons since the mid 1980s and competing in the Physically Challenged division since 2001. She focuses on Sprint and Olympic distance races.

An accomplished athlete, Suzanne holds several gold and silver medals. Here are some of the highlights of her athletic career:
